Hiii!!! I came to ask you how you choose your bright and bold colours so cohesively! I struggle with making cohesive bright pieces but it's something I really want to work at. Do you have any tips? If it just comes naturally & is intuitive for u i understand that too! ty!!

tysm!!! i don’t have a solid explanation on how I go about it, i’ll mess a lot with layer effects until it “looks right”, I do go around irl and if I see a cool color combo on packaging, posters, etc i’ll take a pic and note the palette to use for a future piece!

Like right now I saw a poster not too long ago with lime green, green, and purple and want to use it for a future piece. If I don’t have a palette in mind then I color everything in it’s normal palette, and then layer it with solid pinks and blues set to different/ color burn/ etc in different opacities until I get colors I like and adjust.

Too shy to not be on anon but your art gives me brain rot I love it so much!!!! You're colors and lines are literally everything. Idk if this explains it properly but you got a style that if I saw it on like a candy or drink I'd want to try it. That's all bye bye 💖✨️

eeee tysm!!! i’’m so glad to hear that! I always strive for making art that’s loud and catches peoples eye B]

hi hi! i love your art so much & specifically how you use shapes, especially when you’re drawing heads and faces. i was wondering if you have any tips about how to incorporate shapes this way! pls feel free to ignore if course!

Thank you! I was mulling over this trying to figure out an answer that makes sense. I usually go for what “feels right” which is not a great answer lol so come deconstruct my choices with me in real time–

I really miss seeing your original stuff and oc content, I know fanart gets way more attention but I always wish I could see more of your original ideas and stuff! I’m happy you’re getting the recognition you deserve as a super rad artist and I’m glad you’re getting to draw stuff you like though! I hope this isn’t offensive or rude I just really like your characters :)

thank you sm for liking my original art ToT <3 I’m actually working on some of it rn >:] My plan for the summer was originally to make a bunch of original riso and a few zines for an upcoming art market next month, but it seems like I haven’t had the time to really start ToT

While I do love fanart a lot a lot I do want to shift to more original stuff at some point :]

do you have tips on the saturation of pieces and keeping them somewhat consistent in rgb to cymk

I basically pray to the printing gods that things will turn out well ToT I’ve had good luck so far with it, I generally never draw in CMYK and when it comes to printing out prints I submit my files in RGB and let the printing press handle the conversion lol, but other merch that i’ve had to convert to CMYK I just convert it at the end, open up the saturation adjustment and bump it up a bit if it lets me and hope for the best

Excuse me if you talked about this already. What got you into in riso printing and how has your experience been so far? Your riso prints look incredible and so fun that inspiring me to get into it ;P

Hi! So i’ve loved poster art since I was a kid because when I lived in my grandmas house I would spent a lot of time in my aunts room that was full of metal posters from floor to ceiling. Super influential to my little kid brain. Then in highschool I found out what screen-printing was when my graphic design class went on a field trip to a local printing press that did posters and shirts. So at that point I started associating posters with printmaking and seeing them go hand in hand. I took classes for it in college and fell in love, easily the best class I took in my studies.

I found out through friends there about riso printing (tho the school didn’t offer it) and how it was a branch of printmaking and I really wanted to try it, so during the pandemic time I couldn’t really screenprint with no studio (too many chemicals/clean up) so I started working on figuring out riso prints thru Risolve studio (just online, not actually physically there). Eventually I bought my own machine! I figured out how to use it by trial and error, a lot of googling/facebook groups, and people I met at the local art scene in the last city I lived in. I’m still learning a lot but now I have 9 inks in my library and i’m super excited to experiment around!

I just really love printmaking and riso is the easiest way for me to do it with minimal equipment/mess/chemicals ect :D

i saw you say you might go to anime matsuri next year -- please reconsider! as a fan that's watched the owners of this con since year one of operation, it's a terrible idea. there's loads of information available online on exactly how dangerous and unsafe the company they keep is. and if moral grounds aren't enough to want to avoid giving them money, they honestly treat artists like trash. every year there are new horror stories from the alley of the abuse they get away with. i cannot stress enough how bad of an idea it is to support AM! stay safe!

wowow thank you for letting me know! I’ve heard a lot if mixed things about it but I didn’t know it was that bad!!
